Taxpayer Money Used On Downton Abbey Congressman For Hot Photographer

The British hit television series Downton Abbey on PBS has been getting a lot of press recently, mainly because there are lots of jibber jabber of Julian Fellowes leaving the show for another. With that already getting fans blood curdling, to amplify the emotional swing, it’s not helping many when a Congressman in the United States, whom a fan of Downton Abbey, is spending taxpayer funded money towards hot photographers.

With all the snuff about high class aristocracy and the promotion of the show itself, this doesn’t really help the show, it only opens a can of worms about high society and there mistreatment of lower income society. Schock is a Congressman from Illinois, and he has a handsome photographer follow him day and night on taxpayer money.

If this isn’t enough for you, he spends $10,000 on Superbowl tickets, partying with Ariana Grande, and staying at lavish hotels that are named dropped from other high class society. Is this a massive issue, not really because it happens all the time in congress. The massive problem is that it happens all the time in Congress… and nothing is done about it. Now it is clinging on to Downton Abbey and bringing it down. Take a look at this ALS challenge by Schock and just remember, this was most likely done using taxpayer money.

Downton Abbey Season 5 Episode 2 Expectations

There is a change among Downton. Witnesses to the change in times and a dawn of a new age that falls on the region. Some may be more optimistic while others are pessimistic. With the changing times comes changes within Downton. As we do recall, Jimmy was found in bed by Lord Grantham with a guest. Although not proper, how will the two clash this episode?

With that being said, we will also confront somewhat Lady Edith and her feelings towards her lover. We know from last episode that Lady Edith found a book that belonged to her lover. Will some speculation come from this?

What is occurring within Downton all at once is something very peculiar and odd. It’s quite shocking how everything could come crashing down at once on so many characters. And although there are lots of secrets within the confines, will they ever see the light and if so, what will be done? We look forward to episode 2 and entire season. Below is a 71 seconds episode 2 video clips.

Allen Leech’s Way With Accents in ‘Downton Abbey’ Makes Home At The Estate

Allen Leech, who plays the role of chauffeur Tom Branson in the PBS British hit television show series Downton Abbey, has a way with accents. The native Irish born has used a mixture of English, Scottish, and Irish accents to whew his viewers.  Playing a World War II code breaker, Leech uses what is called a ‘scotch lilt’  (The Imitation Game).

During some of Leech’s scenes where Tom confronts a nanny who inappropriately disciplines his daughter, he uses his well versed Fellowes impression saying, “I don’t think another death on our hands is what we need.” When asked about his uncanny ability to switch accents, he explained that never would he pull that accent in front of Fellowes unless he got fired.

Not only is Leech good looking or his character role, but his accent is something that has drawn viewers to the now lead character. One can almost look at Tom Branson’s character as traversing the social hierarchy in front of our eyes, the ugly duckling becoming a beautiful swan. For those reading and hoping that Leech’s character doesn’t run away from his duties, you mustn’t be afraid, Allen Leech is going nowhere, he has become apart of the estate.

This being stated, Tom Branson has traveled through many arenas since the passing of his wife. Alone with his child, now a re-ignition of purpose and socio-political fire has come somewhat flooding back into him. Through the help of Sarah Bunting, played by Daisy Lewis, Leech’s character is seriously mulling over his life in America with his daughter. With the family still not quite grabbing at his foot heels to get him back, his character looks forward to where he can find love and needs the acceptance of the family.

Downton Abbey Season 5 Episode 1 Recap

For those of our United States audience that missed the series 5 opener last night, well, you missed some succulent clips. Yesterday January 4th, Downton Abbey Season 5 amped up once again in the United States to give the viewers the fix they have been craving.

The episode opens with Lady Edith on her way to visit her daughter, who she had out of wedlock, Marigold. She left Marigold with a farmer Tim Drewe and told him a lie that he very well knew. Not being a problem, Tim made it quite apparent that Edith should probably take a little more interest in her child and eventually adopt her. Not sure if that will ever come to pass seeing she did have premarital sex and to place the cherry on top, did have Marigold out of that occurrence.

We turn to Lady Mary, times are changing and the last time we met her she was being tugged between Charles Blake and Tony Gillingham. It seems that in this episode, Tony has come back for personal reasons and does make an entrance at Robert and Cora’s 34th anniversary. Mary explains to Tony that she loves him and without much hesitation (behind closed doors) he asks her to spend time together as each others lovers for a week. Which is kind of funny seeing Mary just had this secret conversation.

Lastly, we see little Jimmy bringing the heat. It seems the widower, Lady Anstruther, has a little something for the footman. When her care mysteriously breaks down in front of Downton, we can only guess what happens next. They are found by Richard boots up in bed. They were caught when a fire broke out and Richard was going room to room. As a result, Jimmy is fired because it was unprofessional. And the fact that we are in a period in which looking at women in certain full length clothing is scandalous.

Back To ‘Downton abbey’ For Season 5 We Go!

January is one of those months we make our teeth grind. Filled with New Years resolutions (i.e. Back on that treadmill we go) and empty pockets from the holidays greetings, for some of us, there isn’t much to be very happy about. For the United States, one thing is for sure, Downton abbey is back for season 5 and we all have something to savor for.

The premiere of downton abbey season 5 for most of us will be the treat we need to make it not only through the work week, but through the new years resolutions we all promised ourselves. No more cupcake parlors, no more chipotle, no more ben and jerry’s chocolate fudge brownie ice cream, and certainly no more over indulgence in starbucks.. because we are trying to make a statement this year.

With that being said, the one thing we all do not have to extricate from our lives is the brand new episodes of Downton. If you haven’t been following the facebook page (which is good on you), then you will be in for many treats. Furthermore, unlike the past Christmas Specials, this one comes with quite the goodies.

We electric slide into the ‘Jazz Age’ in the heart of 1924. A noticeable face emerges, an American actor that goes by a very familiar name. For some of us, we aren’t impressed. While for others, it couldn’t have come fast enough. Hopefully, you all have revisited season 4 catching the tidbits that will condense and manifest in this seasons episodes. There are many questions to be asked including Tom Branson and Lady Mary. Also, is there some other courting in the midst? We are still on the edges of our couches (remove the popcorn and the chocolate fudge brownie morsels) waiting to for this series to yield its wondrous nectar.

**Spoiler** Downton Abbey Season 5 Christmas Special

Downton Abbey Season 5 started earlier in the previous months in the United Kingdom while viewers wait anxiously for the start of the season coming early January. This being said, for those that don’t want any revelations as to what occurs in the Christmas special, please avert your attention elsewhere.

Unlike previous Christmas specials, it seems that the viewers had quite the juicy tidbits to watch this season. With all that has been flying around for the past couple of months, we have just witnessed Mary’s new potential boyfriend. Furthermore, the Earl must fight off an ulcer, Tom says his goodbyes, and Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes get engaged. This is the lick your chops stuff that you have been waiting for, but leaves the viewers with many questions including:

Is the Earl’s ulcer really an ulcer?

Does Mr. Talbot have a hidden agenda? Is he trying to become more than an acquaintance?

How will Tom Branson fare and will he ever return?

Will Mr. Carson and Mrs. Hughes have a falling out or will they be together for the long hall?

Many of these questions have been something of much talk since the showing of the Christmas special not long ago. It’s too soon for speculation as most of what has been seen is too recent. No foreshadowing has really allowed anyone to extract information.

But here is the thing, one of the best lines that I have heard this season came from Mrs. Hughes in response to Mr. Carson’s response, “Of course I’ll marry you, you old booby.” Downton Abbey was trending  and #youoldbooby immediately following the episode. After already buying her and him a house, he replied, “take your time, but I am not marrying anyone else.”

Upwards of 10 million viewers hearts melted. There is a lot to think about here and with more questions than answers, you know the show is only going to get hotter! What will happen to the Earl?

Downton Abbey Seasson 5 – Winter Christmas Special

The Christmas Special for Downton Abbey on ITV has changed this year as it has moved physical location from Highclere castle to Alnwick castle. Alnwick castle as you know was used for the Harry Potter series. They have embellished the castle using artificial snow.

The period drama is being shot in the middle of August and the video can be seen here, shows Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) and Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith) taking a stroll down the side of the castle and river. The downton crew have made the entire landscape a snowy pasture all around Nothumberland.

That being said, Laura Carmichael speaks out about her character, Lady Edith. Speaking to “Hit Fix,” she states that no one really knows where Edith will be. She explains that her child is in the country without her and Gregson is no where to be found. The family doesn’t really know. Furthermore, she says that she won’t really be getting sympathy from the family. Lady Edith’s emotions and mental health will be all over the place. Her character is someone to really focus on as she is a psychological mess. She really has placed herself in this situation and I believe this is a slippery slope for her.

It seems that Lady Mary will soon pick between her two very handsome suitors, which has been proposed by venture capital posts. These two suitors to recall are Lord Gillingham (Tom Cullen) and Lord Blake (Julian Ovenden). Although she is still unsure, hints in season 5 might shed light on who is going to win that prized possession.

Downton Abbey: Aire’s in U.S. in September

There have been rumors circulating the internet with the possibility of the U.S. getting the same time slot as the UK. They were able to get this confirmation with Julian Fellowes. When PBS commented, it seemed more like a fantasy. Although it would be nice, there would be too much competition for the time slots.

One of the biggest pushes to get the U.S. to have the same viewing time as the UK is due to the massive amount of “Spoilers” flying around the internet while the episodes haven’t aired in the U.S. I won’t lie, I’m not helping the situation, but for my UK followers, it’s imperative that I tell them what is going on and what they should be looking for the upcoming episodes.

Although talks have been circulating about this possible move, it seems unlikely. Currently, the U.S. still set to aire Downton Abbey on January 2015. I will keep you updated to the state of Downton Abbey as I hear more about this possibility.
