Downton Abbey’s Doors Stay Open For Gareth Naeme

Every time you have come to grips with reality, that Downton Abbey is coming to an end, another story airs stating the contrary. It seems the saga keeps on going and Gareth Naeme will not let it die.

For those that do not know who Gareth Naeme is, he plans the scripts and storyline with Julian Fellowes. So he is a major player when dealing with how the story will come to a close.

In a recent interview with Gareth, he made all the usually required statements to the press about how the storyline would come to a close.

Mr Neame said: “We want to answer all the questions that people are asking: will Edith get a break? Are Bates and Anna going to get any good news? Is Mary, with all the ups and downs that she has had over the past 12 years of the story, going to see light at the end of the tunnel and settle down?

“I don’t know that they are all necessarily going to be OK because, don’t forget, we’ve always said that this show is about the end of a way of life, the end of an era.

But then, he adds:

“But I can confirm they are not all going to be wiped out by a meteorite. At the end, as we leave them to their own lives, yes, the door will be left open to come back to the majority of them in the future.”

Many of the tv cast didn’t even know how big the television series had become, because for some, it was their first acting job,

“Downton was my first television job. I was so excited and happy to be in the company of the actors I was in I didn’t realise the hype around it,” she said.

“It was around October time of the first series that Hugh Bonneville, who plays Lord Grantham, said to me, ‘Laura they aren’t all like this. Not every single TV job you have will be so big’.

It’s been heartfelt and people are really going to miss such a time savory period drama. But, like Naeme expressed. The door is not closed for some magic to occur, so fans have something to relish in that.

Lastly, this show did more than just touch the lives of people around the world, but also saved Highclere castle itself. The financial state of the estate is not looking so good. So this show has resurrected its health!

Series Starts Filming in Oxfordshire

Most of the fans of Downton Abbey like I have been impatiently waiting for the next installment and filming of the next series. Well the cast have been spotted outside Oxfordshire making there new season of Downton Abbey. Pictures have been taken of Michelle Dockery (plays Lady Mary) and Lord Gillingham and Charles Blake.

From many of the pictures placed up in line and the facial expressions made. Reading the body language and the acting on set, it seems to me that the suitor is that of Charles Blake. Slowly Mary is starting to open up, but I don’t think we will see a sharp interest until mid-season.

We are in the down stretched for the 5th season of Downton Abbey and I know you all can barely wait until its arrival. I will take it upon myself to scour the internet and the magazines to find the newest pieces of information for those of you to feast away at.

It also seems that Tom Branson, whom is arguably one of the more favorite characters on the show, whom also lost his wife a couple years ago is starting to make a rebound and might have found a little someone by the name of Sarah Bunting. There are pictures of them during the shoot in which he is showing a little flirtatious behavior. Like a gentlemen, some of the pictures shows his beautiful smile while he removes that hat from his head.

I’m expecting a lot to happen in season 5 so get ready!

Episode 503 Review

Lord Gillingam is making quite the entrance. Although Mary is still keeping her distance. I will say that Lady Mary, to me is a bitch. She comes off very harsh and Gillingam takes it like he owns it. The show is turning into almost uncertainty as Lady Mary desperately asks others to go on a ride with Gillingam, but none are willing to her avail. She is still very raw from the death of Matthew and anything is setting her off. Lord Gillingam is taking it very well though and he isn’t someone that will go easily.
This show sometimes is like watching paint dry as daily life becomes the best television show. It seems that Earl is keeping himself from whats going on by keeping himself at work. I don’t know what to think about it, but looking at the small little cues of avoidance gives us some sort of idea. Look at those cues for the answers.

As the episode continues, we see Violet Crawley call Mary on her avoidance or hesitance towards Gillingam. It’s clear at this point that Mary is keeping her distance and the tension arises between the two of them.

This episode is divided into the somber and the wicked. It seems that the family is falling apart one person at a time. Tom whines about everything while Isobel falls apart as Gillingam and Mary are spending more time together… after her sons death. One of the cooks has a heart attack as the stresses of running the kitchen has consumed her. Everyone in this episode has brought about a negative effect.

The only character as of now that I understand is Violet. She tells everything as it is and doesn’t take anything seriously. It is her that is the matriarch of the household and is the foundation. In the midst of the most horrible things happening at downton, the sadness and dysfunction, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

When you think there is hope, Anna has been raped. She is unable to look at Mr. Bates because of the disgust and dirtiness she feels about herself. She feels like she brought it upon herself and thus isn’t able to get close to Mr. Bates at the end. Mr. Bates as shown is confused and will scare him.

Thoughts that one should be pondering:

How does Mr. Bates feel for the change in Anna’s behavior?

How will this affect the entire house?

Why is it brought up that there is a cheat in the card room?

What does that foreshadow for later down the road?

What is going on in Anna’s head?

The past episodes have been something to think about. When a television show is about drama, dramatic things happen. As the years pass, we push the boundaries on what is shown on television more and more. Why is this done? Why did the writers at Downton Abbey push the way they did? We see this with revolutionary television shows trying to push boundaries.

Downton Abbey wanted to make a statement. The writers wanted something that would get people talking. The more controversy, the more people are talking, the more thought goes into the importance of the characters and the scenes. Rape is a very important issue around the world. It seems that we hide from it, scared of it. The message that seems to be shown on television is that these things happen, but what we do next that defines us.

Anna as most of us know, was raped two episodes ago outside by Mr. Green. No one saw what had occurred and the next episode showed Anna standing there among everyone else. The importance of this scene is to indicate the pain and anger in Anna and the repercussions she wants for Mr. Green. But also her vulnerability. She feels like she is infected with an incurable disease and that anyone who touches her is prone to the disease. At the moment, her anger has consumed her and thought process isn’t clear.

The writers want to show people after seeing very dramatic, the ways in which someone that has been abused can arise or fall from tough situations. Will Anna prevail, will she empower herself, or will she fall and do something unbelievable?

This is the real question that society should be asking themselves. If we keep it hidden in life, the only way to answer it is in a hypothetical scenario played out in a drama series!
